Dr. Lisa Osadciw is now teaching ELE551 Communication Systems, Fall2005.

This course introduces the basic concepts of analog and digital communication systems. Amplitude, frequency, and phase modulation and demodulation are covered. The effects of interferring signals, sampling, and quantization are also discussed.

Dr. Lisa Osadciw taught ELE651 Digital Communication Systems, Spring2004.

This course covers the fundamental theory and techniques for digital communications systems. System design goals and trade-offs are discussed using basic system parameters such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), probability of error, and bandwidth expenditure. Topics to be covered include baseband modualtion, demodulation/detection, link analysis, channel coding, synchronization, and spread spectrum techniques.
