STRUCTURES
FUSELAGE PROJECT
**Update: So far, there are two teams that we are aware of. Both teams are working on the fuselage which should be complete before holiday break (Xmas). The two teams are: 1) Venno, Vernon, Anthony and 2) Vasco, Carlos, Paco, Steve
This is the next project the Structures
team will be doing. CLICK HERE to view the
instructions that the team leader has dictated. Also, below is an email he has
sent to anyone interested in working on this project.
From Venno:
Attention Engineers who are tired of doing the same homework
problems that seem to make no difference in the world or show how creative you
are and you want to start DESIGNING YOUR OWN THINGS that REFLECT HOW GREAT OF
AN ENGINEER YOU ARE by applying what you have learned to more than homework
problems.....
There will be a fuselage meeting Monday at 6:00 in 0006. (I got an Exam in math
Tuesday so it'll be quick just to make sure that everyone is on the same page)
If you are interested in participating in the fuselage project YOU MUST attend
or E-Mail me BEFORE THE MEETING
The following are the team leaders you may work with, contact them if you wish
to work with them REMEMBER TO KEEP GROUPS OF NO MORE THAN 3 Including LEADERS:
Ernie Casparie [edcaspar@syr.edu]
Andy Welles [avwelles@syr.edu] (aero team)
Vaclav Jelinek [venno1@aol.com]
Carlos Perez [clperez@syr.edu]
(if you feel enthusiastic enough you could create your own design by yourself,
just let me know)
After reviewing the Budget and an inventory of what we have in DBF, we only
have enough materials to make 2 fuselages, so what will do is give you 2 weeks
to design a fuselage to meet the requirements that are attached and submit them
No later than November 29 at 8:00PM. Sorry to put such a tight schedule on it
but We are on a huge time crunch and we MUST get this done ASAP if we want to
fly. In order for your design to be considered to be built, you must submit a
complete drawing of what the fuselage will look like with
dimensions...something that you could build off of, CAD drawings are preferred
(especially 3D solid drawings).
Good luck
-Venno
