For the first time ever, Syracuse University combines Homecoming and Reunion for one amazing weekend and The L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science is playing a major role!
Friday, October 12th: 10:30 am.
Friday morning, October 12th, Dr. Charles T. Driscoll, University Professor of Environmental Systems Engineering and distinguished member of the National Academy of Engineering along with Ed Bogucz, Executive Director of the Syracuse Center of Excellence will present a lecture entitled “Climates For Change: Energy and Mercury Concerns Drive Innovations For Built and Natural Environments. This very hot topic is sure to be a big hit. Come see Ed and Charlie in 105 Link Hall, Friday morning, 10:30 am to 11:45 am.

Friday afternoon, October 12, Tanney Oberg ‘50, of Parkville, Maryland will speak and sign his book, Lucky Sweetbrier, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm. in the Peter Graham Room of Bird Library. Tanney’s story is a firsthand account of the Sweetbrier during WWII, when Oberg served as radioman-in-charge. It is the unvarnished truth about life aboard the USCGC Sweetbrier during its war service. Dean Emeritus Brad Strait, says, “An absolutely incredible story of survival and I encourage all our students to read it."

Saturday morning, we will continue a reunion tradition with the annual Dean’s breakfast. Interim Dean Shiu-Kai Chin will host a fun and informative morning. This is a great opportunity to visit with faculty and friends and catch up on all the great things happening within the College. You won’t be disappointed!
