Astronaut and Syracuse University Alumna, Eileen Collins to touch down at Syracuse!

Eileen Collins was the first female space shuttle commander!
Congratulations to Rebecca Rought! Rebecca is an outstanding senior aerospace engineering student holding a 4.0 academic average. She will receive the 2007-2008 Astronaut Scholarship Award on Wednesday, September 19th. Eileen Collins will personally present her award and speak about her experience as a space shuttle commander.
Rebecca Rought gained interest in industrial engineering while interning at BAE Systems. She volunteers as a physics coach at SU and helps elementary students with science experiments through an engineering mentoring program. In 2006 she became a student member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics while continuing active roles in SU's engineering sorority, Alpha Omega Epsilon.
