Jorge Luis Romeu, Professor and Researcher redball

Jorge Luis Romeu . is a Research Professor of Quality Engineering, Industrial Statistics and Operations Research, with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Syracuse University where he teaches undergraduate and graduate industrial statistics, operations research and quality engineering courses. Romeu is also an independent industrial statistics, quality and reliability Consultant, and teaches international short courses for practicing engineers. He was, from 2007 to 2015, a Senior Science Advisor with QSI, a consulting group that operated the Reliability Information Analysis Center/RIAC, currently part of the Defense Systems Information and Analysis Center (DSIAC).

Romeu was, during 1982-85 and 1998-2006, a Senior Research Engineer with the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute (IITRI) and its successor, ALION Sciences. Romeu then worked from 1985 to 1998, as an Associate Professor of Statistics and Computers with the Mathematics Department of SUNY Cortland, retiring Emeritus in December of 1998. In 2011-2012 Romeu worked as Sponsored Research Specialist and, from 2012 to 2017, taught graduate and undergraduate Management Sciences/optimization modeling courses, for SUNY Institute of Technology (SUNYIT), in Utica NY. In 2014 SUNYIT merged with the SUNY School of Nanotechnology, in Albany, NY. and was renamed SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly).

Romeu is also involved in International Education. He created and directs the Juarez-Lincoln-Marti and the Quality, Reliability & Continuous Improvement Inst. Web Page: QR&CII, two International Education Projects. Romeu is also a writer and Journalist, involved in Cuban Affairs.
